Front end alignment
Kevin when you find someone let me know, I need a couple cars aligned.
Here are a couple places you could check out, both of them are in Stockbridge, not too far from you. One is Rivers Auto & Tractor Repair on North Henry Boulevard. I haven't had an alignment done there yet, but I trade with him otherwise and he does good work. The other is Christian Brothers on Eagles Landing Parkway. I haven't had an alignment done there either but I have traded with them in the past and they did good work. Christian Brothers is not inexpensive.
I plan to check out both places for an alignment soon.

Wouldn’t hurt to call the shop you think of using, just to confirm that they have an alignment guy that understands these old front ends. Asking them if they have shims on hand is a good idea as well.

I was on the move when I posted before. These are the basic alignment specs I use for our vintage “A” bodies. They differ from the published specs that are typically in the alignment books and machines, caster being the primary difference. I always shoot for as much positive caster as can be wrung out of a front end in these cars.
Toe .1” (.03 - .15)
Camber -.5* (.1 - .9)
Caster
Left 5.0 (4.3 - 5.8)
Right 5.5 (4.7 - 6.3)

I have always had good luck with Route 44 Tire & Auto in Canton. I dealt with their dad for 30 years, even before he opened his own shop, he has now retired but his son is well versed in FEA. That’s where my new (to me) 69 El Camino will be going in a week or two. In the same area is Collinsville Auto that would also be a strong recommendation. Time has marched on and I don’t know who else I would trust. So these two shops that I have dealt with for decades and both do alignments are the only places that I’m sure of.
