Can someone please explain this spring spacer?

Anyone ever see these before? Apparently they are some kind of aluminum spacer. I'm in the process of rebuilding my front suspension and when I removed the front springs, these were discovered in the lower A arms. Does this mean that these current springs that I have are aftermarket or lowering springs? They measure 16"...not sure what they should be. My car is a 350 with air. Any info would help so I know whether or not new springs need to be ordered. Thanks.

Brian

They are used for more lift. They are also used for worn sagging springs to give stock height back. With new springs you wont have to use them unless you want the front to sit higher.

Thanks for the reply. I assume that my local spring shop can check if the springs are sagging? Perhaps I can just eliminate these if the springs are good. The car does seem to sit a bit high but wasn't sure if that's the standard car height or what.
