air shocks for rear???

Hi guys and gals....I purchased a set of rims a few weeks back for my 71 delta 88 and the rear wheels are 275/60/r15/107t and there is only about 3/4 inch between wheel and fender which kinda scares me.

I would like to raise the rear of the car about 2 inches higher or so, the cheepest way... any tips on how to do this...Air shocks????

I suppose the least expensive way to lift the rear is with a set of blocks between the axle and the springs. Just reverse the position as shown in the pic. Of course air shocks will do the same and they are adjustable. I'll say that from my experience with air shocks, the ride quality can turn to trash pretty quickly.

Or you can take it to an automotive spring shop and get them re-arched and add a leaf. 3/4's of an inch is a lot of room by the way.

Roger, have you given any thought to waiting to see how the car sits when the engine drops back in? IMO Changing the stance to nose down could affect the driveability of the car. What about a good set of narrower tires? Maybe 235 or 245's?

If you need extra height, maybe start with 1" and see how it goes from there?
