'77 Cutlass 442 Aftermarket Rear Suspension
I apologize in advance if any of the following has been answered in other threads. I have a 1977 Cutlass 442 with rear air suspension. The air system is prone to leaking on occasion and beings that I'm dropping in a freshly built 455 this spring, I would like to upgrade the rear suspension and do away with the air. I'm possibly looking at coil overs, but any suggestions in that department would be welcomed. I guess my real question is where can I find aftermarket suspensions/coil overs for this car? I've searched the net for the past hour or so and not much luck if any at all really. Most places that have A-body suspensions don't mention them being compatible up to '77. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

I apologize yes they are air shocks. And does have springs. New springs may be needed. The fact still remains that the air shocks leak. And to my actual question... does anyone know of a coil over system for this car? That is what I'd like to put on it. Or does anyone know of a system for a different model that would bolt up?
What are you looking to achieve with your rear suspension would be my ? The factory original springs with a decent set of shocks would work just fine in your car. Are you looking to raise the rear a little or drop ? I'm not really answering your ? however a little more info as to what you would like to do would probably help with more suggestions . Just my .02
