66 cutlass ride height
You could cut them or buy different springs. The question which should influence your decision is - are the rear springs currently in the vehicle the original OEM springs? If OEM original, you're much better off to purchase new springs as the old OEM springs are almost certain to have lost their compression. With that said, you can then decide on which rear springs. Various vendors (i.e. UMI Performance, Moog & others) sell several types springs to lower (1", 2", etc.), maintain OEM ride height, or raise OEM ride height. If you had a brand new set and for some reason were still unsatisfied with your ride height, you could cut the coil(s). That's your call. It's really tough to forecast what ride profile you're looking to achieve - your ride profile may differ from many others and various factors such as wheel size, tire size, etc. will influence your decision.
Here's what's available via UMI for a 1966 Cutlass. Shop around w/ other vendors...their may be other options...
