I’d like to replace my OEM steering box to something better( if possible)
or is my only option to get a new OEM box?

 

Your original steering gear has in it what is referred to an "easy steer spool valve". If you replace it with a new one, you will lose that easy steering and have a stiffer steering. I would recommend finding an independent rebuilder to rebuild yours as I did with my 67 442 gear.
