72 Cutlass flex plate bolt size.

I have a olds 350 block and trying to bolt the transmission back up and do not have any bolts. Would anyone know the size and length so I could get some from the hardware store.

Don't go to the hardware store. Go to the auto parts store.

All of them should have torque converter bolts. They're a standard item.

I don't recall whether they're ⅜-16 or ⅜-24.

3/8-16.......probably 1.75" long should work. Make sure you get at least grade 5, grade 8 would be better.

The bolt size specs I gave you are for the Trans bell housing to block specs. I just noticed the title states flexplate bolt size, which is different than bellhousing to block size. Flexplate bolt size is 7/16-20 and half inch length. You definitely want grade 8 hardware for those.

For some reason I am questioning if they are 7/16" now or 3/8"........dammit

Here's a link that covers the sizes you need (converter to flex and flex to crank): http://www.jegs.com/p/Mr-Gasket/Mr-G...48890/10002/-1 O'Riley's should also be able to get these for you (if you can find a competent counter-person). Good luck and let us know how you do. Note: these bolts should be Black Oxide Grade 8 type fasteners (as above).

Get the right bolts from one of us or an auto parts store. Often the head is thinner and/or the length non-std.

I have TONS of good used GM bolts.

Be sure to specify which TWO or more parts are involved at the joint also

Flexplate fastens to two things, and the bolts differ and are both very much non-std units.
