back again! anyone with a good method to clean the exterior of my carb its got 40 years of crud on it but I'm not sure i dare to tear it all down to do a soak .

Easy, just a little time consuming. Worth it though!
Just keep the dirty stuff from getting inside. A low-lint cloth pushed inside can help when doing the top..
