Fuel pressure

Wondering what you guys run on a carbureted application.
My quick fuel regulator supposedly is set at 5 psi.
I have it mounted in the stock fuel pump location, and its feeding fuel up toward the carb.
I have a clear inline fuel filter, and fuel is flowing into the chamber, but the carb is still dry.
Thanks.

What carburetor are you running?

Is your float(s) set correctly? I got an edelbrock OOTB that had BOTH floats set badly. So i wasn't getting any fuel to the carb.

if you push down on the accelerator pedal (ignition off) do you see two streams of gas squirt down the primaries?

By the way, the cutlass service manual suggets 5.5 to 6.5 (it's eccentric because the fuel pump runs off of an offset cam).

Holley 3310...it's been sitting a while.
I'm starting the motor for the first time since it's transplant.
I plumbed the fuel system, ran the electrical, hit the engine with some starting fluid, and it rumbled to life for a few seconds.
My Holley book says 8 psi is the max,so I'll most likely turn up the fuel pressure and see what happens.
The regulator is adjustable from 4-9 psi.

I have an in-line fuel pressure gauge from the otter-zone.

It's clocking in at around 5-6 PSI, if your carb can take 8 then maybe try it.

It's got to be a carb problem.
I've noticed a leak in the dual feed line and replaced it.
I've pulled the needle and seat, and there is some fuel in the bowls, but I don't get any jets in the main metering section.
Back firing slightly through the secondaries.

Agree, it's likely a carb problem, as you mentioned it's been sitting for a time. Who knows what crawled in there meantime, making a nest. I have a rear mounted electric fuel pump on my car, with the mentioned regulator, mounted where the mechinical pump once resided. Also included a dial gauge on the regulator, so kinda easy to tell if no pressure. Mine's set up for 7 psi.
