Will a Universal Pressure Sender with a 1/8" NPT fit my 1970 350?!

and what size water temp sender would i get ?

need to order both online and want them to show up and fit!!

I believe water temp on my 455 is 1/2" NPT. Don't know if 350 is the same?

An electrical oil sending unit of 1/8 NPT will fit thread wise, but the unit itself will not fit between the timing cover and intake manifold. You'll need an extension pipe of some kind. I had an extra part left over from a gauge pod I bought

already a piece of pipe there... which brings me to another question for you guys..

Today i installed a oil pressure gauge so i can keep an eye on my oil pressure till my digital gauges are up and running.. When I fist hooked it up i started the car (cold) and the psi was around 45. Which was a big deal beacause this meant that the oil pressure is fine and the reason my digital gauge showed such a low reading was perhaps result of the sender on its way out or bad wiring. But after about 10 miles of normal operation the gauge went back down to 0 but when i would get on the gas it would rise some but only to like 25. At warm idle it was 0!

I pulled over and poped the hood thinking the oil pressure line for the gauge was leaking causing a drop in pressure, but when I poped the hood with the motor running I noticed there was about a inch long pocket of air in the tube right next to where the oil comes out of the motor..

Dose this mean my motors not pushing oil? I just got the car and have no honest clue as to when the oil was changed last could dirty oil have clogged it? any suggestions would be great lol this thing is killing me!

If the motor was not pushing oil...you'd know about it quickly.
Oil gauges are always a pain...if you do run one,make sure you use the correct copper tubing and not plastic.

 

Stop. Do not pass GO. Do not drive that car until you figure out what is wrong.
Operating with no oil pressure will destroy your engine, if it hasn't already.

This is normal. There was air in the tube to start with when you connected it.

Yes. You have zero oil pressure, therefore it is not pushing oil until proven otherwise.

Im going to bleed the oil line.. See if that makes a diffrence i know air bubbles are normal but this is ALOT of air... And lets say my car isent moving oil, how would i explain the gauge working when i first hooked it up ?!

Only things i can come up with is air in the line or some sort of little debrie stuck somewhere.

Cause at low rpm there is no reading but at higher rpm the gauge gose up to about 25, I would say this cars been driving without any reguard to oil pressure for atleast 6 months by the previous owner, if there was really ZERO oil pressure im sure the thing would be toasted by now

 

You don't want a ton of oil pressure anyhow..you just want a steady reading.
Lot's of people go through the trouble of restricting oil to the rockers to give the bottom end more protection and cooling.
The oil needs to flow to the parts,but blasting past the parts at high pressure does nothing extra special.

 

EVERYBODY take a deep breath!

If the air pockets we're talking about are in the translucent plastic oil line to a mechanical gauge, that's ALWAYS the case. This is nothing to worry about. The air remains trapped. You don't need to bleed it. Just live with it.
