Is this set-up OK w pics

72 OLDS 350

For my PCV I have my drivers side valve cover w a PCV valve that goes to the PCV port on my edlebrock I think thats normal. For the pass side valve cover the vent goes to the under side of my air cleaner I think it used to go to the outside of the air cleaner with a filter on the end. I dont have the original air cleaner set-up I didn t get it w the car

So is it OK that the pass side potentially sees some vacuum when originally I dont think it was really under vacuum at all ??

thanks in advance

That looks fine. The passenger side will be able to pull clean fresh air into the crankcase if the pcv valve pulls more than the blowby creates.

You are right. The carb is sucking engine fumes through the PCV valve (nothing but a check valve) and fresh air will be entering the other side through the round filter (which is not a very good filter if you drive in dusty, dirty areas.)
