And now for the Grand Finale............................
I got a 2nd place plaque for The Prettiest One and one for the Intrigue also!

And I won a $50 gift certificate to Fusicks! Also got 2 little die cast Olds cars when they called the number off my windshield cards in each car. I felt honored!

Thanks guys!! Colonel... you make me laugh! We put our fire extinguishers outside of the car - I guess so they can be grabbed in a hurry! I don't know who won in that catagory, lol!! Blue had a big one by the Vista - I've got to get a bigger one myself.
Great pics Sandy & well done on the 2 seconds. I thought that there must be some mandatory fire extinguisher requirement at your shows which we don't have down here. Went to a show last Sunday where there were 1,200 cars (at least) and not one extinguisher to be seen. Two Oldsmobiles...mine and Chris's lovely 1955 which has featured on CO a while back. Some beautiful and very rare machines and we all got to do a lap of the race track. Gave it a squirt in 2nd down the main straight and backed it off at 90mph....we weren't supposed to go hooning around.
Did you get a full pic of that yellow 67 parked next to the beautiful orange & gunmetal '57? I'm still very partial to '67s.

man makes me wish i was home for that one. originally from a place called burton, ohio, right by chardon in geauga county and my sister and mom lives in northfield right by the track. and yeah ohio seems to have a lot of older muscle cars everywhere but you never see them until a show pops up it seems
Your thought is correct. At OCA events, a fire extinguisher is required for each car displayed. That has been the rule for quite a while. Has to do with show insurance regulations.
Like 157 pressure packed metal cannisters sitting on hot tar in the Ohio summer sun

. KABOOOOM !!!
There is a rule at some shows here that you cannot open your hood for an hour after you arrive at a show. Some kid touched something and got burned a while back. Nothing about extinguishers though.
My Olds arrived from the States with an empty one. Maybe they dumped the contents because they didn't want pressurised containers in transit or maybe it was already empty.
So maybe 1/2 those extinguishers are empty
. Are there extinguisher ***** that go around checking?

There were 126 cars IIRC, not much of a turnout, a bit because of the weather, I know a lot of people that went to the Woodward Cruise and there was a big AACA show the same day here.
I've had show judges or officials check the extinguisher charge a few times Col.
No hood opening for an hour, that's ridiculoth. Do you put a teapot cozy on your tailpipe so there little fingers don't get burned if they touch it???, two in your case Col.
People have to be responsible for their own kids, ban kids without parental supervision, not opening hoods for an hour.
No bikes, strollers or dogs are allowed at most shows anymore, same should apply to rugrats.
You can't show the car without an extinguisher at a lot of shows, sort of a good idea to have one in the car in any case.
The car's tires don't blow up sitting on the hot asphalt??

Fuzzy pic below of the first place fire extinguisher I won at a show a while back.
Looks like a fire extinguisher.
I just noticed... it isn't charged.
