Newbie here Just Got a cutty, dont know wh!at it is and im lookin for some juicy juice
Hey guys my name is rick and i just got a hold of ma first muscle car, a 1970 cutlass supreme(at least i think), little story on it, I was looking on CL for a muscle car, originally looking for a 70's chevelle and there was a couple but they were either not the right color, right paperwork or they were asking too much.
After a while a had considered a 70's monte carlo, but i was really not digging the long front end and the low ci engine that came with it or the chevelles i saw.So i started looking at similar body type cars,I found a CS with original engine and 64 thousand miles but the guy was asking $3000 and needed work on interior and body, so i kept looking and found nothing.
The next day I start looking again and wouldnt you know it i see this same 3k car for $1800 OBO,after checking out the car i Offered the guy $1200 and did not accept(what he said was"I dont need the money") After looking around his driveway i see about 5 cars including a porsche carrera(80's) and a cutlass 442(85) so i said okay ill give you $1300<he said lets do it. It needs some work as you can see but im not looking to restore the car to original<im looking to hot rod the car and make a powerfull fun street racer.
I was woundering if you guys can tell me more of my car based on my vin# 342570Z and the number i found by the manifold #380001LH.
For now untill i sell my other cars to make room in my garage i just want to give it a good tune-up because it hesitates a little when i step on it,so what do you recomend and what kind of items should i change,be specific here are some pics.

It's a 1970 Cutlass Supreme 2-door Holiday Hardtop built in Fremont, California.
C'mon, you're pulling our leg. How could you not know the year of a car you're buying, or how could the seller not know what year car he is selling? Wasn't there some paperwork involved, like, for example, the title, that would have the year on it?
I can't help you here, but I'm sure others can.
Another set of numbers you could post on here that would be helpful would be what's on the cowl tag, which is on the firewall on the driver's side just below the windshield wiper motor or in that area. Copy everything down carefully (many times an "S" can look like an "8" or vice-versa, especially if the tag is dirty) and post it here. From these numbers, one can tell several of the options that were originally on the car as well as the original paint scheme.

Oh no, i know its a 70',what i meant is that i didnt know if it was a supreme since ive seen different body roof styles that say they are a supreme which confused me. ill look for that cowl number tommorow and see what it says.

I'm sorry! I read that as you saying that you didn't know what year it was!
Your car does look to be in pretty decent shape from your photos. Looks like a nice find for what you paid. The Old Cars Price Guide puts the value of 1970 Cutlass Supreme 2-door hardtop in running condition but needing restoration at about $4,000. If you got this one for $1,300, that's a steal and a half!
Thanks guys, yeah i did get it for $1300,it runs good, interior is missing headliner and seats are gone, but everything on the dash is there, body is original<never been repainted and only has alittle rust on the bottom of the front fenders and some below the rear glass,Now to use some of that money i saved to sup up the engine, any recommendations on a good tuneup? this is what im going for once i get some time.
this is the way im going

Yeah I've already started to look for a set on CL but no luck, how much would a set of these rims cost me? As far tires does anybody know of some cheap good tires with white big letters,I'm going for that nascar wheel look.
Not sure about the tires. Much of that would depend on the size you are wanting to run. I suggest you take a look at tirerack. Not only are they a sponosr here but I can testify they are great to deal with. The two times I ordered tires I got them the next morning and at a great price. I ordered tires once for a friend from them and that took just two days. Also they have a good customer service over the phone. As for the price for the wheels I think the 17X9's are the most expensive at around $75 a wheel which is dirt cheap for new wheels.
re
alrite kids, here is the plaque on the firewall, hopefully you can tell me more on what i have.
