Adjustable throttle cable suggestions?
Still using an OEM (i.e. the repro equivalent thereof) throttle cable on my 350-4bbl, which is now a Quick Fuel instead of Q-Jet - Unfortunately it's too long on the engine side so it's moderately arched in the section behind the carb, creating intermittent binding issues at the throttle to where I'm now frustrated enough to seek a replacement but not sure what to consider
What I see in the Lokar options seems questionable - apparently their wires are secured via a set-screw and I've read where wires have slipped loose of it and rendered the cable inoperable whenever/wherever.... Not seeing any other types though, am I missing something or is this gonna be a finding the best of the worst expedition?

Did you start with the 24" housing cable set? I presume only the cable wire itself is cut to length... . I know the OEM cable is 23.25" in total length, so would presume 24" is the correct starting point or better to start with 36" for safe modification room?

Sure----you pull the center cable out of the sheath and then remove the clevis adapter. The center cable will work with the standard OEM plastic retainer that is used on the gas pedal arm. It's pretty simple and seamless. Works great!
Another vote for Lokar in a non-stock application. When we did the 4bbl swap on my friend's 69 F85 with the I6, this was the easy answer. Also used the Lokar TV cable for the 200-4R and their bracket for the E-brock carb. Works like a champ.
Good so far. Removed the old cable which revealed a square hole in the firewall about 1/2" x 1/2". Lokar cable housing is only 5/16" so I'll sandwich the firewall with two 5"16 fender washers to seal it up. Should work very well.
Thanks Joe.
Thanks Joe.
