Supercars 350 dipstick tube?
Supercars 350 dipstick tube?
Anyone try one? I want something better than the loose fitting chrome tubes. I tried to pull the dipstick tube out of my 260 without removing the pan and it didn't go well. They usually break when installing headers anyway. I am putting a chrome one in the 260 as it is getting headers. I want a nice fitting tube to go one my 350, going for a more stock look for now.
You can get the chrome ones to fit better if you " flatten" the area right under the little lip where its stops you from pushin the dip stick too far down . Put it on a vice and just squish it a little. Worked for me.
I will try that when I put it in the 260, I will try that. I just want a stock looking and fitting tube. I will put antiseize on it as I will probably pull it next year, planning on using the Sanderson's and new 2.5" pipes possibly next year. It will interesting to see how this 260 goes with Ram air, headers, duals and 3.42's
. Hopefully the budget will allow a Halo and machine work for the 403 block next spring to replace it along with a junkyard short tail TH400.

I would be intrested to see what that 260 can sneeze out. I remember when i had the 307 in my 72 it felt like a 14 sec car but i never got it to the track with that engine. I got a th400 i plan on rebuilding here shortly too.
