Sanderson headers question

What's the difference between Sanderson street rod 455 headers and 350 headers? Other than primary diameters? These are the ones I'm referring to:

These are hot rod headers with the outlet in the center. The 350 headers exit in the rear where they clear steering in A body cars.

Yes, I am aware that they are hot rod headers, but sanderson makes a 350 version of them that look identical to the 455 ones. I'm just trying to figure out the difference between the 2. Here is the 350 version:

Tube size is one, the 455 headers have 1 7/8" primary with 3" collectors . I had a set of the 1 5/8" primary with 3" collector center dump 350 headers in ceramic. They have all the dimensions on their website. According to their site, the 350 headers are 2.5" from flange to the edge of the tubes and 7.5" from the top of flange to the bottom of the collector. The 455 headers are twice as wide at 5" and one inch longer at 8.5".

Thanks, I suspect they will work just fine for my project then.

What are your project plans? Those 350 headers hug nearly as close as manifolds.

They are going on a 350 in my 47 coupe. Getting a brand new ceramic coated set off ebay for $165 less than list price. If they don't work out, I'll put em up here in the classifieds. Just too good of a price to pass up!

Probably the same place I bought mine. They were a super price and nice, much cheaper than anywhere else. I bought them for the Olds powered 4x4, worked but due to being a 4x4, exhaust routing was too tight on the driver's side. I then bought uncoated O351 rear dumps. As long as you are using front mounts and have clearance under the center of the motor, they should work. I would use Copper or aluminum collector gaskets, regular ones don't last. RTV works great, just like Sanderson suggests between the exhaust ports and header flange.

Yup, front mounts with plenty of clearance under the motor. The front clip is out of a 93 vette. Thanks for the tip on collector gaskets.
