Timing indicator question

I need a timing indicator for my 77-79 Olds 350. I have a plastic one from an 86 307 and it does not fit. Are they different than the ones that came on the 350?

Yes they are different because the engine architecture of the engines are different. Get one from a wrecking yard

Huh???

A late 70s 350 and an 80s 307 use the same architecture and the same front cover. The 307 timing tab should bolt right up.

Where are you located? I have a few extra and would let one go for free.

It hits the balancer. Is the balancer from a 307 different than one from the 350?

Does any one know if the balancers are different on the 307? Is that why it does not fit?

307 y vin motors have a smaller balancer. Like a hockey puck

350 and 307 vin 9 use the bigger balancer.

a 307 y timing tab will not work.
