Don't know if this was mentioned, but coukd your crank pulley have seperated from it's out ring thowing you off when you set your timing?

 

No it was not mentioned yet, but could that really happen when the car only has 54k miles.

since 1997 its been from 54,000 to today with 54,750 on the clock, to show how very little its been used, but always exercised

 

i'll let it go for $6,000 if anyone is interested, i need to sell it and use the money for my business

 

Now i'm back to the carburetor, i sprayed enough starting fluid down its throat to the point it started and ran rough for about 15 seconds... until the starting fluid ran out. anyone want to send me a carb that is knowingly working?
