Valley Pan sealant

I'm second guessing the sealant I used on my valley pan, i'm hearing of coolant leaks from improper sealing of these gaskets. I used Permatex High Tack Sealant sprayed on both sides of valley pan...any issues or should I remove the manifold and redo with RTV type sealant?

High tack is normally pretty good stuff... I'd pressure test the cooling system to make sure it's sealed and if it's all good, drive it.

Are you having any issues?? Generally sealants are for added insurance, if no issues then no worries.

The engine is still on the stand, I've read some threads about valley pan propensity to leak when not properly sealed...first build jitters is all.

if ist a stock motor that doesnt have a lot of milling done to the block and/or heads you will be fine using the hi-tack! The seal is no different than with a steel shim head gasket and hi-tack is fine for those!! (MOO)!
