VACUUM ADVANCE

Have a 74 350 olds with a hei. Question is my hose from the distributor vacuume is going into a T that then leads to another T and eventually to the ported vacuume on the carb. These T"s lead to the trans vacuume and to the black ball which from what I can understand is for the gas vapor. Do I need to have the hose from the dist. vacuume going straight to the ported vacuume on the carb. And then route the others to a manifold source. Or leave it alone. Its running fine but not sure im getting the full advance with all of the T's.

Couple of things. First, the black ball has nothing to do with the vapor recovery system. It is simply a vacuum reservoir that supports the A/C or other vacuum operated accessories that your car may have. Second, the distributor alone should be on ported vacuum. The ball and other accessories should be plumbed to full manifold vacuum.

Thanks Joe! I always wondered why there were so many things running from one port.
