Trusted thermostat brand(s)?

I'm going to be flushing the cooling system on my 307 very soon and in the process will be switching to a 180 thermostat, I've heard some bad things about mr gasket thermos failing.

Any brand suggestions?

Summit Racing brand is pretty good, but who wants to pay $5 shipping on a $11 thermo. Sometimes they run speicals though.

I've been buying my parts at Advanced Auto Parts for a few years now. I did just have a Mass Air Flow meter take a crap on me in a little more than a year, but their parts seem to be the best of all the retail auto parts stores

I have used the Mr Gasket / Robertshaw hi-flows for years.
Never heard any issues with them, except the one I put in my '86 must have been stuck open.

I've always used the Robertshaw pellet type, on recommendation of my friend/shop owner/technician. Harder to find, but never a problem.

Have you considered using a 160 instead of a 180? I use 160's in Houston and never see the temp above 180 degrees. When I added the aluminum 4 core to the mix the temp never went above 175, even sitting in traffic. Just an idea...
