Question Toronado oilpan on a 350

Hi, I´m going to use a Toronado oilpan in my 350 build and I have a question about the two oil baffles thats going on with the pan itself (front and back).

How should these baffels mount? Are there som special hardware I have to get? I´,m wondering about main bolts? If I should get main studs , It dont seems to find any main bolt kit that´s extra long for windage tray baffels.

Does anybody have some picture how the baffels are mounted on the main bearing caps.

Best regards

Stanley

Some of the main bolts had a threaded top similar to the head bolt for the alternator, and the baffles were attached to them. I don't think I've got a picture of them on an engine, hopefully someone else does. John

On a small block, mains #1-4 are torqued to 80 ft lb instead of 120; that means to me they are 7/16" bolts not 1/2" so the Toro bolts wont work on mains 1 and 4 where they hold the baffles. The bolts and caps may be shorter also. I haven't done much with small blocks so check this out. Also, the scraper on the pass side will be too far away from the small block crank to do much good.

Your correct John, I have the bolts and baffels from the toro engine you sold me. The baffel connects to number 4 and 5 main caps

OK, I think I can weld upp the scraper so it gets closer to the crank, should´nt be so difficult. Then I have to trace up som 7/16 main studs with provision for a windage baffle (dual nuts) with enough lenght to put the baffle where it should be. I checked the stuff I have and took some pictures. Your right about the 7/16 bolts and that the 350 main bolt heads probably are closer to the pan rail. What I can se is that the baffes should be mounted on nr 3, 4 mains and the oil pump bolts. Does anybody know if there is a kit of main studs that will fit this arrangement.

Thank you very much.

The front baffle goes to #1. the rear baffle goes to #4 and the oil pump mounting bolt.

just a thought...

Just some thoughts I looked forever for a toro pan, wanted a stockish look didn't want to get a dep pan etc, anyway ran across this article and it actually made a lot of sense to me, I eneded up buying a milodon stock replacement pan which actually has 5 qts in the pan just like a toro but with no hump just passing on what I found
