suggestions for 350 in 69 S

I just have a 350 rocket 4bbl in my 69 S, looking for suggestion on headers and exhaust to up the hp and sound a little bit. I've looked in jegs but I am confused about the fine print that says none with fit my vehicle or supreme?? Help please!

Disregard those notes as for some reason people had thought there were differences where there were none. This question comes up on a regular basis. There are no differences on fitment of headers between a Cutlass S and the rest other than for engine displacement. Some day the manufacturers will correct their notes.

I like hookers. They are good quality, they fit good. They hang a little low but if your car is stock height it shouldn't be a problem.

They've been begged and pleaded with in the past to change it but just don't seem to care. I would be extremely suprised if it ever gets corrected. Somewhere out there the guy who started this myth is still laughing about it!

Now that you have confirmation they will go into your car, were you thinking about long tube or shorties ? These guys would know best on how much bangin and tweaking you would have to do on your 69. Quite possible a new set of motor mounts would help while your there. As for my 76 350 I went with the hedman ceramic coated shorties simply because of fitment, appearance and starter clearance. I really don't know how much more HP they bring for the cost but others will chime in on that. The sound is worth the $$ to me .

Whats the difference between long tube and shorties?? Not sure about fitment and starter clearance either.

Long tubes go well beyond the engine bay closer to the cross member to the trans . On the shorties the flange dumps closer to the block still within the engine bay. I run long tubes and a stock style starter no issues but installing the dr. side header does require some juggling with the stock starter.

Here is a pic where the long tubes dump off at.

Shorties are good for a nice easy bolt in without having to bang the header tubes for fitment . I hear the long tube produces more HP how much is always questionably but shorties are nice for clearing everything, the starter mainly . Iwent with shorties with the fact that I don't have the HP to benefit the long tubes
