Shaping a 1969 olds 350 into my 88 cutlass

Just wondering if this will work or what I have to do to make this happen I found a 1969 oldsmobile 350 online it runs and has a after market cam will this drop in and bolt to my 200 4r

It's the stock 307

It will bolt right in but it depends if you want to keep the factory computer carb and distributor. A few things need grounded to work properly without the ECM. Also the 2004R should get a shift kit like the big Transgo kit to help it live behind the extra power. Also might want to upgrade the factory 1900 stall converter, depending on the cam. My 88 shifted full throttle around 3000 rpm, pretty worthless. That requires a governor swap or modification. Hopefully someone selected the optional 3.08 gears in place of the standard 2.56 gears. My 88 had the 2.56 and they sucked. Also the factory spider gears are the first weak link in the spindly factory 7.5" rear. They are soft and explode, if pushed hard. Yukon makes a hardened replacement. Good luck.

Motor

I would be very interested in 307 motor if it indeed a 1988. Does the last 3 numbers on the aluminum intake 212? Also do you know if it is a roller lifter motor.
