Scorpion Rocker arms installed!

I removed the 1.6 ratio Comp roller tips and installed Scorpion full roller rocker arms in the 1.72 ratio. That brings my lift to .483/.508 and I can notice the the extra duration at the valve. They were much easier to install and quieter than the roller tips.

I've always heard that higher ratio rockers do not increase duration. I installed some 1.65 scorpion rockers on my car and I like them and with the poly locks they provided I was able to use stock valve covers.

I still have a little assembly before I can try out theses stainless ford 1.6 rockers . I wanna see how bad they are it seems a lot of people say they won't work but the roller tips are not olds specific they are used for ford and amc too. They worked for me . I made my choice based on the fact its hard to find a 3/8 full roller for an olds that's good .Plus I got the rockers for free from my friend but for my use I'm fine with the 3/8 studs . More spring pressure and I would need to upgrade but it seems like a waste to me imo to do that for my use.

when i bought mine i bought ford windsor rockers, it didnt say they would fit anything else, and they have a good contact pattern with longer pushrods

Mine are also a Windsor rocker with a 3/8" stud. My understanding is they increase the .050" duration at the valve around 4 degrees. Just think, it will open the valve for longer periods of time and add more lift.

it would seem since it opens it more it would have to be open longer, thats how i see it. i just never could confirm that its true.

i did a bit of reading again, hadnt researched the affect of higher ratio rockers in some time. now it would seem to me that you will not increase your duration but you are now opening your valve faster due to your new ratio. you still have the same duration at the lobe but your valve is opening more, so now from the base circle to full lift your valve will have to open faster but will not be open longer. Idk if this is right, kinda just threw this together after a few minutes of reading

I like my Scorpions after 4+ years. They sure are pretty when you pull off the valve covers! I'm just running the 1.6's also listed as ford.
