SBO Intake Weight ?

Does anyone know how much the stock cast iron 4 bbl on a 350 weighs?

How much weight savings when swapping it to an Edelbrock aluminum intake?

Moved the old 2 bbl intake in my shed last week, so my guess is around 50lb. Might save 30lb with an Ebrock so less than 1% of 3500lb+ car. Perfomance experts can chime in, but I bet little gain over a stock 4bbl intake with the Performer and the RPM requires cam and other mods to pay off.

I currently have a 2bbl on my 72 350 and just picked up a Edel RPM for $80. Too cheap to pass up. I'll mount a 650 spread bore carb to it for now.

So I'll figure out the weight diff later this winter and let everyone know. The Edelbrock is 26 Lbs.

If the RPM doesn't work out I'll go with the 72 410446 4 bbl intake that is coming my way in the Spring.

Thanks

I think the difference on the big block is 40lbs so less than that for the small block.

BBO intake weighs 56-57 lb and aluminum will save around 35 lb or so, depending on design of the intake. I don't have SBO numbers, but will be proportionally less, of course.

The iron intake from my old 330 weighed 47 #'s. That RPM should work perfect for you, my Olds sure did like it. If your getting a new carb get a 600 not a 650.

i like the 600 edelbrock as well. im stepping up to a holley 650 dp but im also running a looser converter this time around. My engine ran well with the 600 edelbrock never missed a beat but i know the 650 dp's fuel output with the looser converter will work better. I did have a 650 proform dp with the tighter converter it worked good but it always had a slight bog with a looser converter would have been perfect. Now im going back to that with the new converter .
