I've never noticed that....thats a new one on me
Wheres Joe? maybe he can explain.
I know people ask about grooved vs. non grooved main bearings and the spit hole orentation, but never the difference in 2bbl and 4bbl rod bearings.

News to me too, but to be honest I'm not sure what the difference is that the photo is showing. Replacement parts do not differentiate between 2bbl and 4bbl.

the picture shows different part numbers for all 3 bearings and the 350 2bbl bearing looks much smaller. my engine building neighbor looked it up and found no difference in the connecting rods.
This pic was taken by my camera phone of a pic in the origional factory 1972 Oldsmobile service manual. I work in a body shop that is in the same building as a Cadillac dealer and used to be an Oldsmobile dealer before they quit making them.I i asked around and founa a couple old techs who had been there 30 plus years. They told me about the stash of gold. A bunch of manuals. Most of the new guys only know how tolook stuff up on the comp. Next week I will try to get more info about the stuff. it just seemed strange there is different bearings for the 4bbl.
