Olds Mechanic needed

Hi all,
I own a 1973 Delta 88 with a 350, and I think I might need a rebuild, so I would appreciate any recommendations for shops in Orange County(Southern California). I have been having some running issues with the engine, and I have been to 3 or 4 shops. I have to say, that I have been very dissappointed with the knowledge and focus of the mechanics I have talked to. This car is 35 years old and there are many problems with it. I would like a mechanic that understands that I am not going to replace the entire car in one blast, and that I am looking to sort of pick away at the problems as they arise. I am looking to rebuild with a mechanic that I can trust. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe this is a topic for another thread, but if I rebuild what would be a estimate of the money involved, and what might be the price implications if I go to a larger engine?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Chris
For a stock rebuilt motor, maybe 2 grand or so, depending on how complete you order it.
For a Nice build probably just over 4

+ labor,
and all the other stuff you need like exhaust, distributor, new fuel pump, etc. etc.
