I have a 1979 Trans Am that had a 301 non turbo with A/C and a 4 barrel quadrajet, I have swapped to an olds 403 that came out of another 79 T/A. The emissions canister is removed and I壇 like to leave any non required vacuums and emissions plugged off. I am trying to figure out what goes where and if what I currently have is correct.
thanks There are two ports (one on each valve cover) and I知 wondering what each of them are and where they need to go? From one of the diagrams this looks like it may be part of the Eve? I think this is from the A/C that was removed. The switch that I知 not sure what it is was mounted beside the carb on the opposite side it is on now.

[img alt="Are the vacuum lines that are visibly connected correct?
What is the blue capped off port that is screwed into the manifold? Is it a TVS?
Where does the secondary vacuum break go?
Where does the transmission vacuum go? It is correctly connected to the vacuum tree on the rear of the carb
Where does the distributor vacuum go?

[img alt="I知 pretty sure this is the wire for oil pressure sensor.
Is this pcv valve? If so does it go to the main vacuum on carb? If not where does it go?"]https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/classicoldsmobile.com-vbulletin/1500x2000/img_1159_fae7ac405b713f27a87447a58bea77038bc5bf5c. png[/img] I知 pretty sure this is the wire for oil pressure sensor. For starters, the breather on the passenger side valve cover gets a vent pipe that goes to the air cleaner. It is NOT supposed to be connected to that vacuum port on the carb. Doing so will suck all the oil out of that head, which might be great if you want to fog of mosquitoes but not so great for driving the car. The port on the carb goes to the PCV valve in the other valve cover. I'm also wondering how you have an Olds motor with the EGR valve on the passenger side of the carb. The EGR valve on Olds motors bolts to a boss on the driver side of the intake. Is there some adapter plate under the carb that the EGR valve bolts to? If so, that is NOT correct for an Olds motor. I suggest that you start by taking all of that 301 hardware off the Olds motor and start from scratch. If that's the 301 carb, that is also a mistake.
If you won't be hooking up the heater, then cap the rear port where the red hose originates.
As it is plumbed, coolant can go directly from the block to the water pump, bypassing the head.
If that cap will be permanent, I suggest using silicone caps from HPS. The rubber ones that Dorman sells will reliably crack and start leaking within 12 months of installation.
