Need gaskets and what else for edelbrock 7111 intake?
Sup guys, So after your recommedations i decided to get the 7111 edelbrock intake for my 70' 350 rocket. Now im ready to install,i will only be doing intake, carb and ignition(plugs, wires, msd etc.) my question is do i need to use the intake gaskets plus silicone and what are the torque specs to bolt it on?

i used the felpro gasket kit(turkey tray) for my 350. the kit will tell you how to install as well as the intake from edel. I skiped the end seals and usted rtv as sugjested by edel. I think the bolt sequence is the front two then the back two then in from the front one then in from the back on till you get to the middle. Dont be shy with the rtv on the end seal!

You also, and still, need an Olds Chassis Service Manual.
The Edelbrock website has the instructions, none in the box?

1.Instructions are confusing,It says to use a valley pan gasket #MS96027 and intake gasket #IG-490 is that correct? do I need to use both? or whats the difference?
,
2. I am just doing the intake no cam, valves or anything else and and carb as well as full exhaust, based on your guys experience will I lose any mpg by using this intake? Is it worth it,i just want it to look good for now,but keep my mpg.I dont need emmisions.
3. What carb should I use, can I go with a 650 cfm or would a 600cfm do it and where would i save more mpg?

Hi kid,
No you dont have to use both.... either- or...
Just speak for myself:
I always picked the valley pan with sealer in every corner were the seals attaches to the heads..
Also i put sealer under and above the valley sheet around the water holes...
I had a 600 cfm holley on it, ran great and noticed nothing from mpg... not worse even better...
Hope that helps...
