Question Maybe a stupid question

Can I replace my CCC carb and leave the distributer alone or do I need to replace it as well?

I believe you will get trouble codes from the Computer as it wont sense throttle position. The distributer I believe wont be affected....Just my 2 cent opinion.....

I really don't care about the light. I can pull the bulb and replace it when a diagnosis is needed.
Now Question 2,
Should I get somthing other than a Q-jet or just buy a q-jet that is set up to my cars specs except for a year older for the non ccc?

Thanks alot for the advice.

Exclamation SES light

Does your car also have A ALT light ?some eairly GMs used the SES light to excite the ALT,Some of the not so reputable used car dealers use to try this. Buyer Beware . Larry

I read a tech article in Car Craft or Hot Rod about this reasonally, Car lacked power, they said the CC distributer wasn't advancing properly. They told to put a non-computer distributer with a ported vacumn advance. Later, Ken

Thanks alot guys. I recently had the distributer cap off and noticed that the shaft (or at least the part that the rotor screws down to) is loose, I can move it back and forth about 15+degrees either direction. Could that create a serious idle problem? I shake bad at the stoplights when warm.
