Machine Shop Shopping In & Near Sacramento

As some of you know I ran into quite the adventure the last couple of weeks as documented in this thread: Should I Tighten This?

Well, I've been just doing some research whenever I get free time to find a nice shop in or near Sacramento California to disassemble and possible clean out and see how bad the damage really is. I ran across this shop and they posted their price list.

Do these prices seem too low or on the button?

Way too low, especially for California. I'd do your homework before taking stuff there. I can't see how a business can be profitable at those prices.

Thank you for the heads up. I'm still shopping around and trying to get a good idea how much it will cost for them to clean up the block and the heads where the moisture got in and created rust in and around the intake valves.

Now that the heads are off and the engine is pretty much going to be disassembled I would like to put some speedpros in replacement of the pistons that are installed already.

For the Sac area they seam to be good price.
Pretty cheap for the bay area, around me you can come close to double.
I may drive to get some stuff done.

But like said check out the place. How clean is it, what is the wait time. what are the owners like, easy to talk or seam like they have no time for you, or do it there way not the way you want.

Do your research.

I'm going to shop around next week and check out a shop that another member recommended. Once I get a quote from the shop I'll come back here and see what others think of the price they quoted me.

Thanks again guys.

It might be worth the drive?

It might, but the school year has started and now I will have zero time to make a drive that long. Thank you for the heads up thought.
