Low idle miss
Low idle miss
Hi I have a 86 cutlass 5.0 motor I have miss at idle the carb has been rebuild plugs are good but a light miss at idle do any one know where the air control valve is on this car or what could be my problem
Here's your own thread rather than resurrecting one from 2018 that is only marginally related.
Who rebuilt the carb? Was it properly adjusted per the Chassis Service Manual procedure after the rebuild? This computer-controlled Qjet MUST be adjusted on the car after being rebuilt. You cannot simply bolt it on and expect it to run correctly. More importantly, there are specific adjustments that must be made internal to the carb during the rebuild that require special gauges for these carbs. Few people knew how to do this correctly when they were new and nearly no one does now. Also, the CCC computer system is dumber than an Atari 2600 and will go apoplectic if any of the vacuum hoses are cracked, leaking, or incorrectly connected. Any failure in one of the components in the system will also cause problems, and because of the limited computing power (this system was designed in the late 1970s), virtually none of these failures will set a code. You need to follow the Chassis Service Manual troubleshooting exactly, or you will be wasting your time.
