Identifying High Compression 330
So the engine is now out and off to the machine shop. However I noticed that the pistons in the engine are high compression. Is there a way to determine if the engine was built as a high compression engine? I think it would be pretty neat to have one built that way, but I want to find out before I go around saying anything. For all I know some one could have changed out the pistons. Also what were the decals for the ultra high compression sticker placed on during what years?
Thanks for all the help! As soon as the engine is back in Ill post a thread of the rebuild!

Passenger side head pad should end with a G after the engine number. Obviously pistons are a sign as well as a Red air cleaner but most of these things can be added. The G on the head is your best bet, if you still have the heads.

U I have not seen unless you are confusing it with a V and that would be a 442 head but I highly doubt that, considering you have a 330.
Engine # should start with a W ###### and end with a G if its a Hi Comp motor. All this will be on the front pad on the passenger side head just behind the alternator.
