How timely. I have a co-worker building a frame-off '65 Cutlass 'vert w/ a 350. He already has Thorton's other shorties and is concerned w/ the fit when it all goes together. If he has interference issues, he might have to resort to these (and I'll have a chance to get his "barely used" shorties for a deal!).
They are an inch lower on a small block, but that adds distance between them and the starter for less heat soak. Longer tubes boost torque more below peak torque. At that price they could be killer wall art LOL
While I am giving away Ebay secrets, this garage light may interest some who want brighter rooms or garages, without rewiring.
I saw the pics on a SBO in a 70 Cutlass, they hang really low, below the control arm pivots. Too bad they don't make a set for the SBO, good quality otherwise.

To me, it is not that big a deal and I saw the pictures of that car as well. But then again I smashed my lower pipes on my Mickey Thompson headers on my BBC Camaro, with the advent of giant speed bumps it became common.
I have those speed daddy headers on my 72 cutlass supreme they fit well and no issues after two years .The starter clearance was very tight ,almost touching the header so i went with a mini stater. they do hang a bit low but ive never bottomed them out .im actually happy with them and the price was right.notice in the pic though my car doesn't sit low like alot of guys prefer.i expect that you would run into issues if the ride height were lower.

Looks to be awfull close to ground. I like Thorntons new offering. Id say those are best option if you insist on shorties.
Just bolt stockish, readily available downpipes to them and be done. After the disappointment with Hedmans ill grab these babies.
Yes, they are not long tubes. And are not marketed as ones.
I don't know how people get heat soak. I ran a stock starter with long tubes no issues and I have never had ground clearance issues. I finally went to a mini starter with the new engine ( plan on running locked out timing) . All the arguments against them and I have never had an issue.
A picture of the ride height for reference. just a little lower in the front close to stock.

Eh, somehow failed to quote Allan R, and not going to add the quote there with phone now.
Well, at that price they are cheaper than coated Hedman/ Sanderson shorties, which people have bought.
Plus supposedly no fitment issues. From my experience Hedmans quality was next to crap, straight from factory. And being shorties, id be willing to bet that Hedmans/ Sandersons/ these make really close same power. For sure better than SBO manifolds, but not what long tubes make apparently.
I just dont get it, why people always pull long tubes into debates about short tubes. People buy wheels all the time which costs upwards of 4 figures, and its fine even the stock SS-whatevers does the same thing, hold the tires. And oh boy does those same TT's / SS Cragars look awfull when 12 cars out of 10 have them underneath.

I agree. My Sanderson's were well built and have much shorter collector's than the Hedman headers. I would almost call them a mid length. There is a noticeable perormance improvement with them and 2.5" compact X pipe dual exhaust over manifolds and 2" OD dual exhaust. It is especially noticeable on the 260, I seriously think it might be 20 hp and some torque as well. I just bought 4 Pontiac Ralleye wheels 14" x 7" front and 15" x 10" back, $100 for all 4 and the same to mount tires I had. Not the same as custom rims at. At ARH headers weren't mentioned. I know you being overseas get raped on parts. Our dollar is terrible, with shipping the Thornton's run over $750 Canadian. Plus $200 US plus shipping for RAR 2.5" down pipes and big bodied mufflers would be neccessary, another couple of hundred. It makes the decision tough. Basically I need an Autocity or Cold Case rad, $500 to $600+ CAD to cool the 403 stroker. Then a $500 Hugher 2500 stall lock up converter, $100 Trans Go shift kit, $150 used trans and either $1000, $600 or $400 headers and exhaust the cheaper either give up some flow or ground clearance. I seriously think the original Thornton's with 2.25" down pipes will control sound the best, normal size, cheap, straight through mufflers will work but flow the worst out of the 3 options. I could not believe how loud the system off my G body was on my 70S and droning. I will go roller cam on the 403 stroker, so I don't want to limit that but don't need so much power everything breaks. I want the block at the machine shop this winter but all the rest needs addressing and dollars to do it.
