Hey Guys, I had the front of the engine apart for a long time between doing the timing chain, and trying 5 different places to get the brackets sand blasted. Now I can't figure out the mounting any more for the power steering pump and alternator. If anybody has or can snap some pics of the mounts where the alternator and PS tie together and onto the side of the motor / exhaust then I could wrap this up. There is a spacer and I don't recall where it goes. Thanks Jackson
The alternator mounts where it pivots on the top bolt and adjustment is done through an adjustment bolt for the bottom. The big aluminum alternator support HAS to bolt on to the head before you put the PS pump back into place or you'll be taking it back off to put that ONE mounting bolt back in. The parts book diagrams aren't the best in the world to depict all this stuff in how it really goes together. But it might give you a refresh for your brain when things do go back together. If you have a CSM, it does a pretty decent job explaining things. Not 100% all the time, but it's your best bet. If you don't already have a CSM, it's well worth the money to get a set. Note, it doesn't really show anything about the cruise control servo bracket if you do have cruise- it partially mounts up on the alternator aluminum bracket. Luckily, you can install that at any time.
