How to tell if I have the original engine?

I have a 64 f-85 and I was wondering, How do I find out it is the original engine? The cast number is 381917 which is the 330. So will there be a Vin number somewhere on the block?

I don't think they put the vins on motors that old.
Probably a 1968-present thing.

Correct. VIN derivative stampings on the engine and trans started with the 1968 model year in response to federal requirements aimed at curbing auto theft (by making it harder for 'chop shops' to sell the parts - look how well that's worked out...)
