The timing is set at 10. The book calls for 7.5

It hesitates going 60 ... like a mini backfire (but I don't hear any popping). Almost the engine stops for a mili second (or perhaps transmission).

But it only will do that every 30 seconds and only once, maybe twice.

I have a new fuel pump and the carb idles and accelerates good. But still the pump seems weak, not enough to pump fuel into the carb when the carb is dry (have to prime with external fuel and then it starts no problem).

The timing chain movement at the crank pulley turning it left or right is less than a quarter inch.

No vacuum leaks. Although the transmission vacuum is linked to the distributor vacuum and not on the manifold.

Both vacuum in the distributor and transmission hold.

There is oil deposit with number 4 piston, I can see oil crust on the piston with a flashlight. Otherwise all the plugs are good.

Although they both need full vacuum, I would separate to their own vacuum ports.
