Help Identify Please.

Can you guys please help me with what could be leaking? I fixed my valve cover leak, but after a run in the car, In behind the passenger valve cover, close to the firewall, right around the bolt that holds the ground it would look a little wet, I couldn't see back there, so I picked up a bore scope, I found a hole back there that looks to be the culprit, what is that hole? and what in there could be causing my oil leak? I felt around in there and I could stick my finger in there felt a little wet.

So it looks like it leads to the distributor area, would something be leaking up there? I wonder if my mech used enough rtv at the back of the intake when he put my new alum preformer on.

That's possible, but you might also clean up the suspect area and remove all the oil you can then run it some more to see if it's leaking. Another suspect is he may have simply spilled some oil. Another suspect is the distributor O-Ring. Drop a small bottle of UV into the oil, visualize w/ a black light you'll find where it's coming from if it's leaking.

Thanks, it looks like its the O-Ring, I see seepage. Is that an easy gasket to do, I have no experience doing one.

Easy. You pull the distributor, remove old O-Ring, install new O-Ring, reinstall distributor. I'll bet there's plenty of YouTube videos. It should be in your CSM. Just ensure you mark the distributor orientation which is simply done with a marking pen, pencil, etc. so when you reinstall the distributor you insert the distributor in the exact orientation you removed it.

I have never had a on Olds distributor leak. The Olds intake needs a very tall bead of RTV to seal. I had a similar leak after doing my intake, I just dabbed RTV in the spot I missed, sealed it right up.
