Fuel pump variation - glass bowl vs all metal housing

Just wondering on my 63, it has the all metal housing version of the fuel pump. What was the determining factor as to when these cars received the glass bowl version? Was it the 4 barrel carb? Or was it production date?

Currently having issues with the fuel tank plugging up. Of course a glass one is not going to solve the problem, but it did make me think how nice it would be to have one where you can see fuel in it.

Well, I just decided to remove the fuel pump all together and go electric. Electricity and fuel in one little package. How amazing!
