Exhaust Recommendations
Exhaust Recommendations
I am trying to decide on an exhaust system for my Old 350 with headers. I used an American Thunder system with Flowmaster 40’s on my Chevy 454 and I love the sound but looking for something with a little less resonance inside the car for the convertible.
The American Thunder exhaust with crossovers and 50 series mufflers
-or-
Pypes SGA30S w/o crossovers and Street-Pro mufflers
Does anyone have either of these systems on their small block?

Walker Dynomax, which consistently outflow the (no)Flowmasters in published tests and don't drone.
I just purchased a Magnaflow 2.5" system and just love the sound(461 )
Almost no drone in the car when crusing and when you put the hammer down it just sounds awesome ! im gonna try to make a vid this weekend if the weather allows it,i can only recommend it.

"Turbo muffler" is another over-used and mis-used term. Back in the day, we all used the 14" mufflers that were OEM on the turbocharged Corvairs. That was the hot setup for low restriction without the obnoxious noise. These days the mufflers are all purpose-designed for performance applications but the 14" Dynomax are still close to those original Corvair units. There's also a 21" case version.
When I say Turbo, I am only trying to describe the internal design as compared to the baffled design. I will check out the Dynomax. Maybe its internals are different from the ones that I used back in the day, like the Thrush I had in my old 67 Chevelle.
The attached is a" no doubt winner " for dynomax --lots of comparative graphs --good easy read
