Engine change

I have a 1980 Pontiac Bonneville diesel and I bought a 1977 Oldsmobile 350 gas engine. I'm pulling the Oldsmobile engine in the Pontiac is there a book that can tell me how to hook up wiring and vacuum lines to hook up to the Oldsmobile engine. The wiring and the vacuum lines on the Pontiac Bonneville diesel not the same as the Oldsmobile engine. Please I need some help to connect all the vacuum lines the wiring

I doubt it. It should not really be that difficult if you take your time. It would probably be a good idea to label wires as you take them off the diesel. You may have to make some of them shorter or longer.

The Oldsmobile-sourced diesel in your car is externally identical to the Olds gas 350. One thing that you'll find is that the diesel cars have the driver side motor mount and frame pad relocated forward to clear the larger diesel starter. You can move that pad back to the gas engine location, but it's kind of a pain to reach the bolts with the lower control arm in place, If you chose to use it as-is, then be sure to transfer the adapter plate on the side of the diesel block to the gas block so the motor mount will match up.

There is no engine repair manual, the engine information is in the larger Chassis Service Manual.

There are currently 20 of them on ebay, with prices ranging from $5.00 to $28.00. Type 1977 oldsmobile chassis service manual into the ebay search box.

Thanks Voma. I was at DaNang in the USAF from August 69 to August 70. Joe usually mentions it but DO NOT buy a reproduction or a CD version. Get an original with a few greasy fingerprints on it. As you can see prices vary.
