Edelbrock RPM Heads
Edelbrock RPM Heads
Hello,
A car that I am looking to replace my 72 with is another 72 convertible. My question is this one has the edelbrock heads and I am wondering if you can still use a factory AC setup? The car is an AC car with the compressor and lines removed?
Also the car has 450hp with stock open rear and a turbo 400 tranny, electric fuel pump, rpm intake and I believe 800cc carb and runs on premium fuel. What are some things to watch for or look for in this type of build.

I see no reason that you can't install AC on the car. the heads have the sme mounting holes as a big block motor just need the correct brackets and pulleys whicn might be a challenge finding. The heads were designed for the big block engine. The fuel pump had to be converted to electric because it will not clear the head casting on the small block.
yes it has an electric fuel pump. The original deal was that all of the original parts for the car including heads, AC parts and all that were included and now they are not because he does not have access to them at this point. I am not sure if it really matters or not if I get them just because I am not sure the value on a 72 cutlass convertible increases that much with it being all original or not? And I am not sure why I even want(ed) them other than just having all of the original parts
The reason the electric pump is the stock pump does NOT fit with the E-brock heads.
The other thing is with a convertable, you most likely will want to cruise the streets and putter along checking out the sites. If that engine has that much power and that big of carb, cruising will not be that easy. Plus gas mileage will not be great, and the use of high grade fuel only.
Test drive the car and see for yourself.
