My Edelbrock 1406 ( 600 cfm ) 8 years old now bought as a reman Carb has begun whistling when just giving it a little throttle.
Off the throttle its fine just hear it on part throttle. Other than that it runs fine.
I have a new 1406 in the box ready to go, just wondering if anyone knows where the whistling noise could be coming from before I pull it.

throttle shafts possibly or vaccum leak . mine has whistled for a long time on the olds powered pontiac no issues i found but whistles could be one of those two in my case it wasnt the issue and i stopped looking when it didnt loose power or affect anything.

 

It doesn't seem affect anything. No vacuum leak, Throttle shafts sound good to me.

Usually this is a faulty base to manifold gasket.

 

I will double check my base gasket again Eric. Thanks!
