Do pushrods need assembly lube?

Do pushrods need assembly lube or does priming the engine do the job fine?

If you prime, probably no, but if you want to that is not a problem, I'm not sure where assembly lube could be a problem, as to much in the oil, but I think either way will work.

I use a drop of bearing guard on each end before assembly.

I always use some. I hate putting stuff together dry.

Just a dab of Lubriplate 105 around the sides of the ball ends, don't clog the hole in the center.

Might as well lube them. It will either help or do nothing. Certainly doesn't take long to do.

I used to always use CMD Extreme Pressure Lube, just a bit on both ends, but any high pressure lube will work. I am not a big fan of the moly-graphite lube you get at the parts stores, it clogs the oil holes to easy. We had to blow the pushrods out with air once when the rockers would not prime because the moly-graphite stuff plugged the oil holes up.
Best of luck and hope it goes together well.
