distributor bolt hole question - 350

Hello,

I need to replace my intake manifold gasket on my 72 cutlass with a 350.

When I went to remove the distributor, the hold down bolt snapped off flush with the block. I can drill it out and tap it - I just want to know if this is a blind hole or if it is a through hole. It looks like a through hole to the flywheel but I cannot tell from Images I have been able to find - if someone could look on a spare engine or knows from experience it would be a great help. Also - If I need to tap a larger hole is there any issue going slightly larger or is there not enough meat (say for a helicoil).

Thanks!

It is a through-hole into the flywheel area. You could go bigger or heli-coil it.

Weld a nut to it - it will come right out.

When you put in the new bolt, use Anti Seeze.
