hi folks- i'am getting ready to have my 350 yanked and redone...in a 72 cutlass convert...the one problem is the only motor I have available is a 350 out of a chevy camaro 69...I want to put this in my cutlass(I know sacreledge)so I can still drive it while the olds 350 is being rebuilt....questions are Is this swap doable or is their gonna be alot of cutting and hacking...or what might be the obstacles I'll encounter.....or is it just impossible....thanks.... crank.it

Different motor mount locations, different transmission bellhousing pattern, and I'm sure some other stuff, too. Those were the days before "corperate" engines and each division made their own. I've certainly done my share of low bucks temp fixes, but you might as well be trying to put a Ford engine in.
Sell the Chevy 350 and buy an Olds 350 to "lug" around in until your engine is done. That's still two engine swaps to get one in. Better yet, rebuild the "spare" Olds engine and just swap it once.
My $0.02.

thanks for the replies gentelmen...its hard to part with this chevy motor its a lt-1 and at 350+ ponies i thought it could really move my olds around....but it looks like it isn't gonna fit without some major surgery..but I cant part with this motor.....well if the price was right of course....then I would send the olds motor out to be done...well thanks guys for all the input I got some thinking to do...I guess I'am on the wrong sight to sell the 69 lt1 motor...thanks again....crank.it
