Carb issue maybe? 72 350
The orig carb just got back from sparky , put it on and seems to run good till you put it in r or d. I can't even keep it running in r. I am able to keep it running in d but its not easy. I don't understand , the carb that's been on the car for the last few months is from a gto I think it ran and drove fine with it only problem was secondary wouldn't open. To keep things orig I sent orig carb off and now it's back and on something's not right... Any ideas.

Yep, that would be my first thought. Have you checked the manifold vacuum at idle? Also double check anything changes or adjustments that you might have done just prior to and during the carb rebuilding/installation. Also make sure that the vacuum lines are connected properly. Then make sure that the timing, dwell, state of tune, carb mixture screw setting(s), choke fast idle, and warm engine idle speeds are all OK and/or set as per the service manual.

I pulled a carb off that ran fine on it for months but secondary's won't open, I took it off out the fresh one from sparky which is orig carb never had to modify or add or change anything they both plug and play here . As long as there is no load on it it revs fine but as soon as you put it in gear it starts trying to die on me. Tomarrow ill mess with it a little more
