So i had a knocking noise coming from my '55 324, changed the timing chain and sprockets, rebuild the oil pump etc, knock was still there. Because the car had been sitting for several years, i flushed the engine, knock still there, so yesterday i tore apart the engine to find that i can move my camshaft back and forth, this makes a knock so 99% sure this is the cause. Anyone ever had this problem? I installed the spring on the sprocket back in place, so I guess the bearings are worn, and maybe the camshaft too?
Doed anyone know which camshaft would be best if i wanted to put a mild cam in the engine? Not something local, it has to be something i can order to ship overseas to europe.
