Cam selection

Hi all. Can anyone give me some direction on this cam. Bought it because of decent deal. Currently the blocks in the shop getting forged flat tops and bored out. It’s a 350 and the Heads are ported number 7’s with 2.07 intakes and 1.710 exhaust valves. Stall converter, headers and gears. Looking for good power from 1600-5800 and this cam seems to fit the bill. It was a mondello custom grind for a 455. This is not a strip car, but looking for good street ability and about 400-425hp out of the 350. Car is a 71 cutlass supreme convertible . Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you will be in the 10 to 1 compression range, you will need it. I assume you will be running more than a 2000 stall, you will need 2500+ and a mid 3 gear at minimum. It will be very noticeable at idle and an adjustable valve train will be necessary. Hopefully it will produce enough vacuum at idle. It should reach your goals pretty easy.

Thanks for the response. And yes, she’ll be right at 9.8:1-10:1. Gears are 3.42 and converter is 2500-2800. Can hopefully will make at least 11” of vac.. if not I’ll add a small reservoir or electric vac pump somewhere hidden.. Still waiting on the roller rockers and springs will come once I get the cam in hand.. Should run pretty well..

Thats a lotta cam for a 350. The old school rule was pick the next lower cam in the catalog listings...

do you have any other specs on the cam like grind # or part#?

maybe it’s stamped on end of the cam or on the box? look to see if the advertised duration is shown anywhere

based on the card it doesn’t look too radical at all.. Somehow I don’t see the pics I posted before, so reposting..The card I found online with the same part number.
